Tajikistan to host Days of Belarusian Culture in autumn 2015

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – The Days of Belarusian Culture will take place in Tajikistan in autumn 2015, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Kozidavlat Koimdodov said at a meeting held on 4 September to mark Tajikistan's national holiday, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat stressed the importance of the forthcoming cultural forum. In his words, the Belarusian-Tajik relations have been vibrant in all areas, including the political, trade, economic, education and cultural sectors, in the recent years. “The friendship between Belarus and Tajikistan is based on mutual respect and support,” the Ambassador said.

In his words, the legal framework of the bilateral relations comprises about 60 agreements and other documents that promote efficient cooperation in every area. The two countries have also been strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and have an intergovernmental commission which next meeting is due to take place in Dushanbe.

Belarus and Tajikistan are long-standing partners on the international arena. They closely cooperate in many international organizations, said the diplomat. The Ambassador thanked the Belarusian side for the assistance provided during natural disasters in Tajikistan.

In turn, Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats stressed that the Belarusian-Tajik friendship is time-tested. Equally important in the bilateral cooperation is the friendship between the leaders of Belarus and Tajikistan that have been promoting the dynamics in the bilateral cooperation.

The minister also praised a high level of the bilateral cooperation between the countries on the international arena.
