MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The legendary band Scorpions will give a concert in Minsk on 10 July as part of the 50th anniversary tour, BelTA learned from the organizers of the concert which will take place in Minsk Arena.

To the joy of fans, the band will celebrate the 50th anniversary with a special tour. The musicians have promised to record a new album, organize a tour and release a documentary Forever and a Day. The trailer to this film has been released already.

The documentary will provide a look into the band’s latest years. The video camera accompanied them everywhere: in Berlin, Munich, Paris, Bangkok, Los Angeles, and Moscow. Director Katja von Garnier collected these video materials, used materials dating back to the 1970s, talks about fans, money, achievements and failures. According to the musicians, “the film portrays not only the glamour and rock’n'roll of our live performances, but also gives an insight into the darker side of the music industry: self-doubt and personal conflict.”

During 50 years of existence, one of the most successful German rock bands Scorpions sold more than 100 million albums and gave thousands of concerts. The musicians were planning to end their career in 2012, but it did not happen. At the beginning of the three-year farewell tour consisting of 200 concerts the musicians did not even imagine that it will come to an end so quickly. The concerts brought together thousands of fans, including many young people. The performances in front of the three generations of fans inspired and motivated the musicians.

Scorpions were founded by guitar player Rudolf Schenker in 1965. The most famous songs of the band include Rock You Like a Hurricane, Big City Nights, Still Loving You, and Wind of Change. Their songs highlighted new ideas in global politics.
