Russia’s Travel.ru names Vitebsk among top three travel destinations for 8 March

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - The Russian portal Travel.ru named Vitebsk one of top three cities for visiting on 8 March, BelTA informs.

The rating included 20 cities (with the daily budget of under €100 and travel costs of under €140 per person) that were most popular among travelers over the past year. Travel.ru experts compiled the rating taking into account accommodation costs per two persons for the period of 8-9 March 2015, food in cafes or restaurants, excursions.

Vitebsk with the budget of €42 was placed third behind the Armenian capital Yerevan and Serbia’s Novi Sad.

The rating compilers note that Vitebsk, a cultural capital of Belarus, harmonically blends the traditions of the previous times and modern trends of the present. “Vitebsk City Hall is a place that should be on a must-see list of any traveler. Vitebsk City Hall hosts regular themed and creative meetings, exhibitions and other events. Vitebsk scenery along the Western Dvina will leave no one indifferent, especially on that wonderful day,” the Russian portal says.

The rating top ten also included Bitola, Macedonia (with the budget of €43), Constanta, Romania (€46), Tartu, Estonia (€47), Gdansk, Poland (€48), Kutaisi, Georgia (€50), Plzen, the Czech Republic (€51), Kaunas, Lithuania (€52).

Hamburg, Germany (€73), Turku, Finland (€91) and Antwerpen, Belgium (€94) were named the most expensive cities for 8 March traveling.
