Russia's Novosibirsk Oblast debuts at Mass Media in Belarus expo in Minsk

MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) - A delegation of Russia's Novosibirsk Oblast has presented its regional mass media outlets at the 23rd edition of the Mass Media in Belarus expo in Minsk on 2 May, BelTA has learned.

“We are participating in the expo on the initiative of Governor Andrei Travnikov and presenting regional mass media outlets of Novosibirsk Oblast. We have 30 districts and respectively 30 regional newspapers, Sovietskaya Siberia publishing house, a website, regional TV broadcaster. We have presented all our media outlets showing that there is Novosibirsk Oblast with interesting publications covering all areas of the life of people in Siberia,” Editor-in-Chief Krasnozerskaya Nov newspaper Larisa Medyanik said.

In her words, the Mass Media in Belarus expo is interesting and important. “We need such exhibitions to see the level of media in other countries. Such exhibitions provide us with the latest novelties, technology and opportunities in mass media. We are ready to adopt and share the best practices. We were happy to meet with our Belarusian colleagues. We have received a very warm welcome. Belarusian people are very friendly, and Minsk is very beautiful, especially these May days,” she said.

The Mass Media in Belarus expo opened in Minsk on 2 May to run through 4 May. Taking part in the forum are over 50 exhibitors which represent mass media outlets of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic states, Uzbekistan and China. The expo reflects the whole range of the information space in the country. Among the participants of the forum are printed and audio-visual mass media, internet resources, news agencies, cable TV operators and distributors, publishing houses. The total area of the exposition will exceed 1,000 square meters.

The central themes of the exhibition will include the 75th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazis, the 2nd European Games, modern internet technologies and the revival of the native land. On 3 May the expo will hold its first PR Day and also a large presentation of network media, including Mediana.by founded jointly with the Department of Journalism of the Belarusian State University, the Information Ministry, and the public press center House of the Press. The Dipservice Hall in Minsk will host the awards ceremony for the winners of the national contest of printed mass media Golden Letter. Over 330 applications have been received this year. The Mass Media in Belarus expo will mark Children’s Day on 4 May.

The Mass Media in Belarus expo has been held since 1997 by the Information Ministry with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Hall, the national exhibition center BelExpo, other government agencies, top mass media, and public organizations.
