Russia tops medal scoreboard at 2015 IBU YJWC in Raubichi

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Russia tops the medal scoreboard at the 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Raubichi that ended on 24 February, BelTA has learned.

In two age groups, Russian biathletes won a total of 12 medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze). On the last day of the championships they won two more medals: gold in the 4x7.5km Junior Men Relay and silver in the 3x6km Junior Women Relay.

France is second on the medal table with six medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze). Norway is third with 11 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze). Ukraine goes fourth with 4 medals (2, 1, 1). Belarus is fifth with 2 golds: in the 6km Youth Women Sprint (Darya Blashko) and the 3x6km Youth Women Relay (Dinara Alimbekova, Anna Sola and Darya Blashko).

Other award-winning teams include: Austria is 6th with 5 medals (1, 3, 1), Germany is seventh with 2 (1, 0, 1), Kazakhstan is 8th with 3 medals (0, 1, 2), Denmark and Poland are 9th and 10th with 1 medal (0, 1, 0), the United States is 11th with 1 (0, 0, 1). A total of 16 sets of medals have been awarded.
