Project 100 Ideas for CIS may be held once in two years

The meeting of the CIS Youth Affairs Council in MinskMINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – An idea has been proposed to hold the project 100 Ideas for CIS once in two years, Belarusian Deputy Education Minister Viktor Yakzhik co-chairing the CIS Youth Affairs Council told BelTA commenting on the preliminary results of the meeting of the council in Minsk.

Viktor Yakzhik noted that the Belarusian side suggested that the project 100 Ideas for CIS should be continued and held once in two years. The national selections will be held during the first year with the CIS-level final and super final during the second year. Members of the CIS Youth Affairs Council have plans to foster cooperation between youth projects from different countries.

Alexander Stradze, Director of the Department for State Policy in the Field of Education of Children and Youth at the Russian Education and Science Ministry, noted that the project 100 Ideas for CIS is an opportunity for young people to present the results of their own projects. He hopes that more projects by international youth teams will be presented at 100 Ideas for CIS in the future.

Minsk is hosting the meeting of the CIS Youth Affairs Council on 14 to 15 April. The participants of the session discuss the status of implementation of the 2014-2015 action plan within the framework of the CIS International Youth Cooperation Strategy and also the implementation of the action plan for 2016-2017. Development of the youth movement, activities of basic CIS organizations aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship, the work with the youth, and improvement of the legal framework of the youth policy are in the spotlight. Besides, there are plans to create a taskforce to develop the CIS youth volunteer movement concept, discuss the work on the book dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS and the 10th anniversary of the Youth Affairs Council and consider further implementation of the international youth project 100 Ideas for CIS.
