Over 600 questions sent to BelTA as part of Your Question to the President initiative

Over 600 questions sent to BelTA as part of Your Question to the President initiative

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – BelTA has received over 600 questions in one day after it launched the Your Question to the President initiative.

The questions were sent by residents of big and small communities from all over Belarus. Most of the questions deal with specific situations or issues at grass-roots level.

The agenda of the questions is very broad: from social security matters, job creation, purchase of housing and measures to improve the living standards, up to foreign policy, integration, border security, efforts to combat corruption. Some people voiced personal requests to the head of state to help them address some issues.

As BelTA reported earlier, on 1 March Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will meet with community leaders, experts, Belarusian and foreign journalists. The Big Conversation with the President will take place at the administrative building on 14 Pobeditelei Avenue in Minsk. Taking part in the event will be over 200 people. These are not only reporters, but also representatives of various expert communities, like political analysts, economists, real economic sector employees, representatives of public associations and religious denominations. The first open dialogue of this kind took place in February 2017 and drew a lot of public attention. Back then the meeting lasted over seven hours. Many of the questions sent to BelTA by its readership were answered by the president.

This time BelTA invites its readers again to send their questions to the president. Tell us about the things that concern you the most, and we will try to voice the most interesting and important questions during the forthcoming meeting with Alexander Lukashenko. You can send your questions round the clock using the online service or write to vopros@belta.by on 27-28 February.
