Over 500 journalists accredited to cover Normandy format meeting in Minsk

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Over 500 journalists have been accredited to cover the meeting of the “Normandy quartet” (Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France) in Minsk, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian President.

The accredited journalists represent the world’s leading mass media outlets from Russia, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Cuba. The forthcoming event will also be covered by journalists from Ukraine, Japan, the Czech Republic, Poland, Qatar, the Netherlands, Spain, Georgia, Norway, Switzerland and Italy.

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, President of France Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are set to discuss peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis in Minsk. Experts believe that this meeting might become the culmination of multilateral efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
