Over 380 entries submitted to CIS peace poster contest, patriotic poster by Tatyana Stepanenko from UkraineMINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Over 380 posters have been submitted to the international patriotic poster contest “We Want Peace” timed to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Mikhail Borozna said at a press conference in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.

Taking part in the contest were young people not only from the CIS, but also from the Baltic Sea states. Painters from seven countries submitted their entries to the jury. According to Mikhail Borozna, posters are still coming in, although the contest is over. He believes that such a huge interest in the contest attests to the popularity of the poster genre and the high opinion of Belarusian poster painting traditions that are known to be one of the best in Europe.

Mikhail Borozna informed that this time the voting was conducted online, for the first time in the history of the contest. The posters were submitted in an electronic form. The reputable jury consisted of representatives of higher learning institutions of Belarus, Russia, Armenia and Kazakhstan.

The first prize went to Belarusian painters Igor Adasik, Ksenia Adasik and Alexander Peregudov. Nane Vardanyan from Armenia was voted second. The third prize was given to the works of Yevgenia Aksyonova from Russia, Akmaral Tobylova from Kazakhstan and Tatyana Stepanenko from Ukraine.
