Over 120 medals from 41 countries to go on show in Mogilev

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – The exhibition Awards of Different Countries from the funds of the Trakai History Museum will open in Mogilev Ethnography Museum on 14 April, BelTA learnt from the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

The exposition will feature more than 120 orders and medals from 41 states of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. A big part of the exposition, 31 exhibits, includes old and new awards of the Republic of Lithuania.

The exhibition organized under the aegis of the Lithuanian embassy in Belarus will be held as part of the agreement on cooperation between the Yanka Kupala State Literature Museum and the Trakai History Museum. The exhibition will also travel to Grodno, Vitebsk, Gomel, the Oginski estate museum in the village of Zalesie.

This project in the Year of Culture will not only unite the museums of Lithuania and Belarus, but also promote further strengthening of cooperation in the area of history and culture.

The Trakai History Museum was founded 77 years ago. Over the years big collections have been developed to show the development of Lithuania’s statehood and the history of Trakai. The faleristics collection includes more than 25,000 awards from different countries.

The exhibition will stay open at the Mogilev Ethnography Museum from 14 April through 23 May 2016.
