Open air at Radziwills’ Castle on 20-22 June

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – The annual festival, Bolshoi Theater Nights at the Radziwills’ Castle, will take place in Nesvizh on 20-22 June, BelTA learnt from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus.

This year’s main venues will be the Nesvizh Corpus Christi Church, City Hall, Theater Hall and the courtyard of the castle.

The organizers of the festival have prepared a number of premieres. Opera lovers will enjoy Antonio Salieri’s masterpiece Prima la Musica e Poi le Parole (First the music and then the words). Amateurs of choreography will see the theater’s premiere Ballet Night From the 19th Century to the 21st Century.

The festival will open with by the string quintet Serenada: Melodies of Love at the Theater Hall of the castle featuring opera singer Tatiata Tretyak. One of the most popular stories about love and freedom, Georges Bizet’s Carmen, will be staged at the Radziwills’ Castle inner courtyard. The chorus artists and opera soloists will perform pieces by Stanislaw Moniuszko at the Nesvizh Corpus Christi Church. The grand gala-concert of the Bolshoi Theatre stars will make a concluding chord to the musical marathon at the Radziwills’ Castle in Nesvizh.

Bolshoi Theater Nights at the Radziwills’ Castle is a musical open-air festival. Such events enjoy great success with music and theatre devotees as well as countryside tourists. Open-air performances are held at historical venues, ancient castles, and sometimes even a whole town becomes a giant stage.

The project was launched in 2010 on the initiative of the theater and with the support of the Culture Ministry of Belarus.
