National flag balloons to take off in Minsk on 3 July

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – An aerostat and a thousand balloons in the colors of the Belarusian flag will fly into the sky in Minsk on 3 July, Inna Adamovich, the head of concert and festival projects of the Culture Ministry, told a press conference in Minsk on 26 June, BelTA has learned.

Inna Adamovich noted that the military parade, one of the main draws of the Independence Day celebrations, will include a theatrical part headlined as Moi Rodny Kut (My Native Land). The final episode of the theatrical part will feature children wearing the clothes with the names of all the cities and towns of Belarus to personify the future of hometowns and villages. A thousand heart-shaped balloons in the colors of the national flag will take to the skies simultaneously with the aerostat in the shape of a heart with the inscription “Maya Radzima” (My Motherland),” she said.

According to Inna Adamovich, the theatrical part symbolizes the unity of all regions of Belarus from the capital city to the most distant part of the country. It will involve about 2,000 participants: students, dancers and singers.

The festive program on 3 July will wrap up with a gala concert, which starts at 21.00 at the site near the Minsk Hero City Stele. “The gala concert will be themed around the unity of the country and the unity of different generations of the Belarusians. The concert will be divided into six thematic blocks dedicated to the regions of Belarus and the capital city. Every block will feature popular artists, natives of a region, and artistic companies,” Inna Adamovich informed.

The gala concert will culminate with the Let’s Sing the Anthem Together event and a fireworks display.
