Mogilev, Shklov, Gorki, Kostyukovichi recognized as friendly to children, teenagers

KLICHEV, 30 August (BelTA) – Mogilev, Shklov, Gorki, and Kostyukovichi have been awarded UNICEF certificates to confirm the cities are friendly to children and teenagers. The certificates were awarded during a Mogilev Oblast conference of pedagogical workers in Klichev on 30 August, BelTA has learned.

Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky and the UNICEF representative in Belarus Rashed Mustafa Sarwar took part in the ceremony. Rashed Mustafa Sarwar presented the certificates.

The UNICEF representative said: “A lot is being done in Mogilev Oblast to develop the social sphere. Close attention is paid to the quality of life of young and mature citizens. We tightly cooperate with local government agencies and enjoy understanding on many matters. Including the resolution of a number of existing problems, which are characteristic of other developed countries, too. Those are related to child injuries, employment of young citizens. We are ready to continue tight cooperation and expect it will have a positive effect in the future and will help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Rashed Mustafa Sarwar also backed Vladimir Domanevsky’s point of view that it is necessary to start career counselling among school students as early as possible. Rashed Mustafa Sarwar expressed readiness to provide support and work together in this area.
