Miss Supranational 2013 grand finale to be held in Minsk on 6 September

MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – The winner of the Miss Supranational 2013 beauty pageant will be announced in Minsk on 6 September. The final of the prestigious international beauty contest will be held on stage of the Palace of Sports, BelTA has learnt.

Representatives of 83 countries will take part in the final show. Two contestants left the project. For several weeks the beauties were preparing for one of the most important events of their lives. The participants did not have a spare minute taking part in numerous rehearsals, excursions, and costume fittings. The ladies were taken to the most picturesque places of Belarus and toured several companies, including BelAZ, Krinitsa and Oasis Group. The ladies went to see a hockey match and presented books about their countries to the National Library.

Belarus will be represented by Veronika Chachina from Gomel. The 17-year old model won several titles over the past year, including Miss Beauty and Grace at Miss Polesie 2013 (Gomel), Miss Photo Model and finalist of the PhotoART 2013 project. Veronika took part in the international beauty festival Neva Shores (Saint Petersburg) and participated in the Belarus Fashion Week.

Working with Veronika are top stylist Alexander Kirinyuk and fashion designer Natalia Lyakhovets. Veronika Chachina will wear a picture-like dress at the presentation of national costumes. The dress was made in white and blue colors. It features a woven belt with Belarusian traditional ornaments and knitted inserts. The dress is adorned by Swarovski rhinestones and a golden ribbon. The highlight of the costume is a long train with a picture painted on it. The picture is 3x2 meters big. A big blue cornflower braid into the hair will complete the image of the Belarusian contestant.

The jury of the contest will comprise representatives of different countries, including Miss Supranational 2010 Karina Pinilla Corro, Chief Advisor to the President of the World Beauty Association Carsten Mohr, producer of the contest in Poland Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski, chairman of the board of the Second National TV Channel Grigory Kisel, showman Ivan Vabishchevich, designer Ivan Aiplatov, Miss Supranational 2012 Yekaterina Buraya, representatives of the Krinitsa company, Olympic champion Alexander Bogdanovich and other famous people.

The winner of the contest will be given $25,000 and a crown. The jury will also announce runners-up, winners of each continental title and sub-title. Earlier, the jury unveiled winners in five nominations. Sally Lindgren from Sweden was announced Miss Supranational Elegance, Mutya Datul from the Philippines won the Miss Supranational Personality subtitle, Valeria Donu from Moldova was named Miss Supranational Top Model, Puerto Rican beauty Desiree Del Rio was announced Miss Supranational Photogenic, and Malaysia’s Nancy Marcus was named winner of the Miss Supranational Talent subtitle.

The beauty pageant Miss Supranational 2013 is going to become the most grandiose show held in Belarus in recent years, with technical equipment from Russia, Ukraine and Poland to be used. A big team of stylists, choreographers, photographers and directors was involved in the show. The show will be broadcast in over 100 countries.

The final show will be hosted by Ivan Podrez and Denis Kuryan and co-hosted by Yekaterina Buraya. Performing at the contest will be Belarusian singers.

Miss Supranational beauty pageant is the third most prestigious beauty contest after Miss World and Miss Universe. Belarus hosts this forum for the first time. For many years the contest was held in Latin America before Poland took the turn in 2009. Yekaterina Buraya from Bobruisk was crowned the winner of the contest in 2012. She was the first Belarusian to win the contest. Before that Belarusian beauties won two first runner-up titles. They were Marina Lepesha in 2009 and Lyudmila Yakimovich in 2011.
