Minsk special boarding school receives New Year gifts from Belarus presidentMINSK, 5 January (BelTA) – Minsk special boarding school for hearing-impaired children No. 14 received New Year gifts from the Belarus president on 5 January, BelTA has learned.

Education Minister Igor Karpenko and MP Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak brought a computer, learning games, and sweet treats for the kids. They had a nice chat with the children and pedagogues, wished them a Happy New Year, and presented the gifts. A beautiful New Year performance was staged at the boarding school for the children and guests.

Minsk special boarding school receives New Year gifts from Belarus presidentThe nationwide New Year charity campaign Our Children is underway in Belarus. Heads of government bodies and local executive authorities visit boarding schools, foster and adoptive families, and children’s hospitals, help them deal with the existing problems and bring gifts. The main goal of the charity marathon is to help every child, especially those in need of special attention, feel the joy of the New Year and Christmas holidays, Igor Karpenko underlined.

The charity campaign is running in Belarus from 11 December to 10 January under the aegis of the Belarus president.

Minsk special boarding school receives New Year gifts from Belarus presidentAs of today, there are 112 students at Minsk special boarding school No. 14. The school offers 15 daytime classes and one night class. The institution has 79 classrooms, including a stationary and a mobile classroom for computer studies, classrooms for sewing, locksmith training, and woodworking. There are also rooms for individual work on hearing, pronunciation, and sign language.
