Minsk, Moscow to carry out cultural diplomacy project on 17-23 September

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Minsk will host the Cultural Diplomacy. Moscovites in Belarus, Belarusians in Moscow project on 17-23 September, BelTA learned from the National History Museum of Belarus, one of the organizers of the project.

The project will feature three programs: exhibition, educational and creative ones.

The House of Moscow in Minsk will host the exhibition part of the project – the Minsk-Moscow: Art of Friendship exposition. It will showcase works of Minsk and Moscow artists. The exposition will also be running at the Universitet Kultury art gallery and the Musical and Theatrical Culture History Museum.

The exposition will feature paintings of renowned Belarusian artists like Vasily Kostyuchenko, Leonid Gomonov, Valery Slauk, Grigory Ivanov, Leonid Khobotov, Oksana Arakcheyeva, Nadezhda Buka, Vasily Peshkun, Anna Silivonchik. The exposition will also include works of the Russian artists Andrei Ochnev, Valentina Chopyka, Vasily Khudyakov, Yelena Khailova, Tatyana Kholevo and others.

The event will also see master classes and meet-the-artist sessions. Artists from the two capitals will demonstrate contemporary art of their cities. The project will help viewers compare artistic skills of the authors, analyze the Belarusian and Russian art schools, meet some artists in person.

The organizers of the project are the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, Moscow Center for International Cooperation, the House of Moscow in Minsk, the National History Museum of Belarus with the assistance of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the Litaratura i Mastatstva newspaper office and the ROSIZO State Museum and Exhibition Center.
