Maria Martynova wins silver at 2019 ESC European Championship in Italy

MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Maria Martynova of Belarus claimed silver and also an Olympic berth at the 2019 ESC European Championship 25m/50m which is underway in Bologna, Italy on 16-26 September, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian scored a total of 456.9 points to grace the podium in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women. Gold went to Nina Christen of Switzerland (460.6 points). Bronze was collected by Norway’s Jenny Stene (444.9 points).

In the men’s rifle events Belarus is represented by Ilia Charheika, Vitali Bubnovich and Yury Shcherbatsevich. In the women’s events apart from Maria Martynova, Belarus has fielded Svetlana Shcherbatsevich (rifle) and Viktoria Chaika (pistol).

In the junior events Belarus is represented by Yulianna Rogach and Abdul-Aziz Kurdzi (both pistol).
