ALEXANDRIA, 7 June (BelTA) - More than 1,500 artists will be featured in the Kupala Night Festival in Alexandria (Alexandria Gathers Friends) due in the agro-town of Alexandria on the bank of the Dnieper River on 7-8 Jule, the head of the national organizing committee, Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko said at a visiting session of the committee, BelTA has learned.

Preparations for the holiday are on schedule. All major issues related to the financing of activities, accommodation, catering and also security have been settled. All facilities are ready.

“The festival will offer a diverse program which will feature over 1,500 artists from seven countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland. The festival will be themed around the Year of Native Land and will be the centerpiece of the musical Native Land on the main venue. The festival will star local and foreign artists and music bands. The Days of Ukrainian Culture will take place on the second day of the event. Over 300 performers from the neighboring country will come to Belarus for the event. “This year the festival will be bigger and more spectacular than the previous ones. Most comfortable conditions have been created for visitors. Over 100,000 people are expected to come to Alexandria over the two days. We are convinced that all of them will enjoy this experience,” Vasily Zharko concluded.

The tickets to the concerts that will be held on the main stage of the festival are already available. The ticket to the musical Native Land costs Br27; the concert that will be held as part of the Days of Ukrainian Culture will cost Br10. The tickets can be bought at the Mogilev Oblast Philharmonic and via the online ticket operator kvitki.by.

The Kupala Night Festival debuted in 2010. The idea to hold this festival in Alexandria was upheld by the head of state. The festivities will unfold in a picturesque place on the bank of the Dnieper River, near the bridge that connects not only two settlements – Alexandria and Kopys, but also two oblasts – Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast.
