Joint youth projects to be presented at Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Joint youth projects will be presented on the sidelines of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from Oleg Dikun, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union.

“The youth delegations of the two countries will take part in the work of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, participate in discussions and present their joint projects,” Oleg Dikun said.

In his words, several events will be held in the run-up to the 5th Forum of Regions. For example, discussion and presentation of joint regional projects of the youth of Belarus and Russia will take place during the 13th festival Youth for the Union State in Rostov-on-Don on 12-17 September. “The program of the festival has been updated this year upon our initiative. The event will gather representatives of regional youth organizations of the two countries. The first interregional agreements will be signed there. The same will be done at the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, but on a larger scale,” Oleg Dikun said.

About 250 young people will attend a gathering of student construction brigades Youth is Building the Union in Polotsk District on 22-23 September. “They will be invited to take part in educational activities, master classes, roundtables and training sessions, to discuss the improvement of the legal framework of student construction brigades and their promotion. A cooperation agreement for the forthcoming five years will be signed between the BRSM Youth Union and Russian student construction brigades. A video conference Moscow-Minsk will be held at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. Youth organizations will review the results of the gathering and discuss the agenda for the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. Achievements of the youth organizations of the two countries will also be presented during the 6th youth forum Youth for the Union State in Mogilev on 9-10 October, Oleg Dikun said.

These events provide an opportunity to discuss and sign cooperation agreements between public associations of Belarus and Russia. “We expect to reach concrete agreements at the regional level, for example, between Minsk Oblast and Moscow Oblast, or between Brest Oblast and Kursk Oblast. This will help boost interregional cooperation at the level of public associations. We want to see how the youth policy is implemented from the economic point of view, how employers support young people. We will also be able to communicate views and voice our proposals,” he noted.
