MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – The international journalism school BY-RU Workshop has been opened in the House of Press in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Vadim Gigin, one of the project’s initiators, Secretary of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, said that the idea to arrange such a school was born during the 19th World Congress of Russian Press in Minsk in July 2017.

BY-RU Workshop has already been tested in Grodno. Journalism professionals and mass media experts from Belarus and Russia arranged a series of master classes at premises of the Grodzenskaya Prauda newspaper over the course of eight months. BY-RU Workshop welcomes young reporters from various parts of the country, who have passed through the selection process and intend to improve their skills. Their training will last for a year.
