Georgia House to open in Minsk

Georgia House to open in Minsk

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – The fifth edition of the festival of the Georgian culture Tbilisoba will take place in Minsk on 24 August. Georgia House will open in the Belarusian capital during the festival, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia told the media on 7 August, BelTA has learned.

According to the ambassador, the festival will live as long as there is an opportunity and desire among the organizers and an interest among Minsk residents. “A big delegation will come to Minsk. It will include the Georgian prime minister, several ministers, the mayor of Tbilisi, and MPs. Our countries enjoy good relations. Moreover, we will open Georgia House in Minsk on 24 August. It will be Georgia’s corner in Belarus where one will be able to find not only natural Georgian products, but also information about them, the country. The House will host different events and meetings. It will be a kind of a cultural and educational center,” said Valeri Kvaratskhelia.

Georgia House will be located in 48 Kuibysheva Street.

In Georgia there are 12 Belarusian food stores, and also sales outlets for nonfood goods, and furniture in particular. “This is not a one-way movement. The only thing Georgia lacks is the Day of Minsk. If the Belarusian ambassador to Georgia agrees, I will do my best to help. The Days of Belarusian Culture were a great success last year,” the ambassador said.
