MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk has ranked second most-attended KHL clubs in the regular season. Craig Woodcroft’s team goes sixth in the average attendance in Europe, BelTA learned from the press service of the hockey club.

On average, a game of the Bisons drew 10,699 fans in the 2019-2020 season, up 985 fans from the previous season. Minsk Arena registered a couple of sold-out matches for the first time in the past three seasons. The 100% attendance was posted on 2 September (the season opener against HC Neftekhimik) and on 6 October (the match v HC Ak Bars).

HC SKA St. Petersburg leads the table with the average of 11,987 fans per match. In the European attendance ranking this season, HC Dinamo Minsk surpasses three German clubs, one club from Switzerland, and HC SKA St. Petersburg.

The Bisons failed to reach the KHL playoffs for the third year in a row. Craig Woodcroft’s men scored 39 points in 62 matches. This is the worst result among 24 teams of the Kontinental Hockey League. HC Dinamo Minsk allowed 232 goals, a new anti-record of the league. The Bisons celebrated 14 victories. The team’s longest losing streak totaled 12 matches.
