Cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky sends Belarus-Russia Unity Day greetings

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky aboard the International Space Station sent greetings on Belarus-Russia Unity Day marked on 2 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

In his video address recorded in orbit, flight engineer of the 50th expedition to the ISS Oleg Novitsky expressed confidence in a bright and peaceful future of the sister nations of the Union State.

“Dear friends! Working aboard the International Space Station some hundreds kilometers above our planet I sincerely wish you a Happy Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. I have every confidence that the friendship of our two nations will last for many years. Belarus and Russia are truly fraternal nations, and the history shows many examples of that. I believe that our future will be bright and peaceful,” Oleg Novitsky said in his video address.

Oleg Novitsky was born in the town of Cherven, Minsk Oblast. During the current expedition launched on 17 November 2016 he has flown a Belarusian flag on the ISS and has taken photos of Minsk and other Belarusian cities from the space.
