British art on display at Belarus’ Art Museum

British art on display at Belarus’ Art MuseumMINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – The exhibition, Touch of Britain: 18th-19th Centuries of British Art, will go on show at the National Art Museum of Belarus on 15 May-13 July 2015, the organizers of the exposition told media on 14 May, BelTA informs.

The exhibition will feature Scottish, English and Welsh landscapes, grand castles with their rich history and London landmarks. The visitors will see nine works (six paintings and three engravings) that are usually kept at the residence of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Belarus Bruce Bucknell. “The works on display reflect an important feature of the British national identity, a love for landscapes, and I will be happy to demonstrate to the visitors of the museum all the works that are kept in my residence,” the diplomat told a press conference.

British art on display at Belarus’ Art MuseumThe exhibition is organized by the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus with the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus jointly with the United Kingdom Government Art Collection and the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus (all of them provided works to form the exposition). The expo will feature over 30 works of the British artists of the 18th-19th centuries. Among them are masterpieces of John Wilson Carmichael, John Glover, George Frederick Buchanan and others.British art on display at Belarus’ Art Museum
