Brest hosts forum of twin cities

BREST, 26 July (BelTA) – Representatives of 13 countries are taking part in the first Brest forum of twin cities and partners, Brest Mayor Alexander Rogachuk told the media on 26 July, BelTA informs.

Attending the forum are over 120 foreign guests as part of 28 delegations from Russia, Poland, Ukraine, China, Georgia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Israel, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, and France. “Brest has 33 twin cities. The forum has been organized to expand the ties. There are plans to sign 18 agreements on cooperation,” Alexander Rogachuk said.

Brest Plant of Household Chemistry has found a new partner in Russia. The First Chocolate Factory plans to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with one of Brest twin cities.

“People understand that Brest is a rapidly developing city which is worth investing. Such forums and meetings create an investment field which results in new jobs and the economic development of the city. Even the best website or an internet project cannot replace face-to-face contacts. The major goal of the forum is to help people get familiar with each other and establish ties,” the Brest mayor stressed.

The program of the economic forum is divided into industrial, transport and logistics, social and construction blocks. Participants are invited to take part in B2B talks, visit Brest companies and facilities inaugurated to mark the city’s 1,000th anniversary.
