Biathlon federations of Belarus, Japan sign agreement on cooperation

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The National Olympic Committee hosted an official reception and the ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the biathlon federations of Belarus and Japan, BelTA has learned.

The agreement envisages an exchange of experience in the issues related to youth and junior biathlon, joint training of national teams, improvement of the material, technical and medical support of the teams.

“The 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championship which is underway in Belarus has been organized at a high level. I have seen different sport facilities and international competitions of the highest level. During my visit to Raubichi I had an impression that Belarus is getting ready to host Winter Olympic Games in the future,” President of the Japan Biathlon Federation Hiroaki Ibe.

“The exchange of experience with such a highly-developed country will benefit the Belarusian biathlon. Cooperation with the Japanese Biathlon Federation will not be limited to joint training camps only. We will advance in technical collaboration,” said Chairman of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation Valery Vakulchik.
