BelTA’s photo expo opens in Tel Aviv

TEL AVIV, 24 June (BelTA) – BelTA’s photo exhibition opened in Tel Aviv on 24 June. It has been housed in the Enav Cultural Center at the Tel Aviv city hall to get Israeli residents familiar with the military years and modern life of Belarus, BelTA informs.

Attending the opening ceremony was Minister of Culture and Sport of Israel Miri Regev who took note of fruitful bilateral relations between Israel and Belarus. The minister stressed the common history of the two peoples in the Great Patriotic War and thanked Belarus for preserving the memory of the Victory and victims of that horrible war. Miri Regev also mentioned the recent opening of Trostenets Memorial in Minsk. The minister is confident that bilateral relations have a huge potential for development. Miri Regev stressed that he hopes for a prompt establishment of a visa-free regime for the citizens of the two countries.

The official ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Israeli political elite, the diplomatic corps, war veteran associations, mass media and local people.

BelTA’s photo exhibition consists of two parts: One Victory for All and Belarus – Land Under White Wings. The first part of the exposition tells about important events in the history of the Belarusian people such as Bagration Operation, Belarus’ liberation from the Nazis and includes photographs of war participants.

The exposition Belarus – Land Under White Wings demonstrates the country’s modern life and its achievements. Visitors may see Belarus’ numerous landmarks, including Nalibokskaya and Belovezhskaya Pushchas, Mir Castle, Augustow Canal, Braslav Lakes. Photos also show national rites and holidays, industrial and agricultural achievements.

The exposition will tour Israel’s biggest cities. The exhibition has been prepared by BelTA News Agency in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus in Israel. The exposition is dedicated to Independence Day of Belarus and the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
