BelTA’s photo album One Victory for All includes about 400 unique photos

BelTA’s photo album One Victory for AllMINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – About 400 unique photos from BelTA’s archives, including photos by such war correspondents as Vladimir Lupeiko, Vasily Arkashev, Mikhail Savin are included in the photo album One Victory for All which was presented at the 22nd Minsk International Book Fair on 11 February, BelTA has learned.

The photo album published under the auspices of the Permanent Committee of the Union State became the winner of the 54th edition of the national contest Art of the Book.

Dmitry Zhuk, Director General of BelTA News Agency, the author of the idea of the album, said that the National Library and the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings also took part in the project. In his opinion, the Victory plays a special role for every person living in Belarus. He remarked that all the participants were inspired by the idea.

Veterans at the presentation of BelTA’s photo album One Victory for AllDmitry Zhuk added that the Permanent Committee of the Union State provided financial assistance and shared ideas with the developers of the project.

Chairman of the Republican Council of the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans Anatoly Novikov noted that this photo album is one of the best publications dedicated to the Great Victory. It is very important that the youth has an opportunity to see the archive materials and the faces of those who fought for the Victory. He added that this is a very precious gift for the veterans.

The photo album One Victory for All highlights not only the war period. It includes photos about the pre-war years, the restoration of Belarus after the war. Authors of the album collected unique materials. All the pictures show the stories of concrete people. The photographs are united by the idea relying on the clear-cut definitions of the Motherland, freedom, independence, and peace.
