Belarusian novelties on display at 28th Moscow Book FairMINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Novelties of the Belarusian book publishing industry are on show at the 28th Moscow International Book Fair, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in the Russian Federation.

The presentation of the national stand organized by the Information Ministry of Belarus took place on the first day of the forum, 2 September.

This time the Belarusian exposition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. Belarus has displayed a number of new publications, including educational, scientific, popular science, information, encyclopedic and business literature, fiction and children’s books. The expo featured over 1,000 publications issued by the Belarusian publishing houses such as Belarus, Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia, Publishing House Zvyazda, Mastatskaya Litaratura, Vysheishaya Shkola, Narodnaya Asveta, Belarusskaya Nauka as well as the publishing houses of the Education Ministry (Pachatkovaya Shkola, Adukatsya i Vykhavanne).

Belarusian novelties on display at 28th Moscow Book FairBelarus’ Information Minister Lilia Ananich noted in her speech at the opening ceremony of the national stand that Belarus traditionally showcases the latest achievements of the national publishing industry in Moscow. “Our exposition includes books that were created in cooperation and financial support of the Government of Moscow. Among them is Book Culture. Vetka, Living Faith. Vetka, Encyclopedia of the Victory. Belarus-Moscow, Belarusians of Moscow. We will continue cooperation with Moscow and implement new projects that will cater, first of all, for young people,” the minister said.

Belarusian novelties on display at 28th Moscow Book FairAccording to Lilia Ananich, this year Belarus took part in the competition Books of the CIS Countries to receive its sixth Grand Prix for its Castles of Belarus book.

The Information Ministry thanked the Embassy of Belarus in Moscow for assistance provided to the Belarusian delegation in the implementation of the project.

Belarusian novelties on display at 28th Moscow Book FairFirst Deputy Head of the Moscow City Department of Mass Media and Advertisement Yulia Kazakova said that the joint Belarusian-Russian program takes an important place in the Moscow governmental publishing program. She also announced a chidlren’s book that will include works of Belarusian and Russian authors. The book will be presented at the Moscow Book Fair next year. Yulia Kazakova also told the audience about a new joint project of the newspapers Vechernyaya Moskva and Vecherniy Minsk.
