Belarusian culture center to open in Beijing soon

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – A Belarusian culture center will open in Beijing in the near future, Belarus’ Culture Minister Boris Svetlov told reporters on 15 May, BelTA has learned.

“The Belarusian culture center comprising two rooms will open in one of the five-star hotels in Beijing downtown,” Boris Svetlov said.

One of these premises will host the information program. It will be fitted with special display equipment?, books and paintings. All of this information will be useful for ordinary visitors and Chinese students who are interested in Belarus. If necessary, the center will provide information for business representatives. “Through culture we will tell Chinese citizens about the achievements of our country in the field of economy, sports, education, healthcare,” Boris Svetlov said.

The second room is a hall with recreated medieval interiors where guests will be able to taste Belarusian national cuisine.

The culture minister also noted that a Belarusian delegation will be visiting China from 26 to 31 May and will participate in the session of the Belarusian-Chinese subcommittee on cultural relations. The sides are expected to sign several bilateral documents.
