MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The 1st Youth IT Forum of Belarus and Uzbekistan kicked off in Minsk on 5 August, BelTA learned from Olesya Sazankova, international youth cooperation coordinator of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union.

The forum is designed to become a platform to discuss modern trends and challenges in IT, jobs and careers in this sector, and to outline development prospects for the international youth startup movement and entrepreneurship. The delegation of Uzbekistan includes 30 people and is led by Kahramon Kuranbaev, First Deputy State Adviser to the Uzbekistan President on Youth, Science, Education, Health, and Sports, Chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan.

The first official meeting of the forum will be held in the National Youth Center. The BRSM will present several projects. “We plan to introduce our guests to the Belarusian culture. The inner courtyard  of the National Youth Center will host the open-air event ‘Belarus is a Source of Inspiration’ showcasing Belarusian traditions and national ornaments –the code our ancestors passed on to us. We will use an interactive format to explain our guests from Uzbekistan explain the meaning behind traditional patterns of the national ornament: Youth, Blossoming Land, Sky, Purity, Fire, Star, and others, and will teach them to make Belarusian amulets. I believe that they will also find interesting the event ‘Village Treats’. It will include cooking traditional Belarusian dish - draniki [potato pancakes],” Olesya Sazankova said.

According to her, the BRSM will also present the project 100 Ideas for Belarus. “Participants of the project will demonstrate their developments. For example, Yan Prokhorevich, a student at Academician Мikhail Vysotsky Minsk State Auto-Mechanical College of the National Institute for Vocational Education, will present his project ‘Social Adaptation System Avatar’. This system is designed to help people with disabilities and speech disorders to communicate,” Olesya Sazankova noted. Student at Slutsk School No.11 Timofei Stambrovsky will present his mobile application which demonstrates physical laws with the help of a robot. Student of the same school Yelizaveta Grinyuk will demonstrate her project “Automatic Air Recuperation”. She has developed an air treatment device made from secondary raw materials and controlled via a mobile application.

The 1st Youth IT Forum of Belarus and Uzbekistan will officially open in Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics on 6 August. At the event, representatives of the BRSM Youth Union and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan will sign a plan of cooperation in information and communications technology.

The program of the youth education project includes a lot of business and cultural events: sessions featuring leading IT experts, presentations, and experience exchange. The first step to implement the roadmap of cooperation was to form a joint Belarus-Uzbekistan student construction brigade consisting of students of Belarusian National Technical University and Tashkent State Technical University. On 24 July, the brigade of 20 students joined Construction Trust No.15 to help renovate roads. The brigade worked in Minsk till 5 August.
