Belarus’ Uzari & Maimuna draws into Eurovision 2015 first semifinal

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian duet Uzari & Maimuna will perform during the second half of the 2015 Eurovision first semifinal on 19 May, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company.

The Host City Insignia ceremony and the Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Kati Bellowitsch and Andi Knoll took place at the City Hall in Vienna, Austria on 26 January.

This year partaking in the competition will be 39 countries. 16 countries will perform in the first semifinal on 19 May, with 17 others making their appearance in the second semifinal on 21 May.

Performing in the first semifinal alongside with Belarus will be Greece, Macedonia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Moldova, Finland, Belgium, Armenia, Serbia, Denmark, Romania, Russia, Albania, Georgia and Hungary.

The second semifinal will feature Norway, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, San Marino, Malta, Portugal, Montenegro, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Latvia, Poland, Iceland, Israel, Cyprus, and Sweden.

The so-called Big 5 – Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and the UK - and the Host Country of Austria will perform in the final on 23 May. They will also broadcast and vote in the semifinals.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna, Austria on 19-23 May. The show will be broadcast live on Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels.
