Belarus’ tourism promotion videos to be aired on Israeli television

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Plans have been made to air Belarusian tourism promotion videos on Israeli television, Belarusian Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Mikhail Portnoi said during an online conference hosted by the BelTA website on 31 March.

Mikhail Portnoi noted that matters related to the promotion of the country abroad are reflected in a number of documents, including in the recently approved state program Belarus Hospitable for 2016-2020. The program specifies the target countries, marketing activities and financing.

As for the promotion of the country abroad, the Sports and Tourism Ministry will focus on the target markets, such as Israel with whom Belarus has a visa-free travel regime. “We have agreed with Israeli Tourism Minister Yariv Levin that Israeli TV channels will air Belarusian videos, while their ads will be broadcast in Belarus,” Mikhail Portnoi said. He added that Minsk exchanges tourism promotion materials with its twin cities.

“We should keep in mind that it costs quite a lot to place a commercial, for example, on Euronews. It will cost around €90,000 to air a 30-second advertisement on this channel ten times,” the Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister added. Meanwhile, he noted that the country can offer Euronews the promotional video Belarus – Country for Life produced by the Belarusian Information Ministry.
