Belarus to showcase over 150 defense products at Army 2018 expo in Russia

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarus will present over 150 defense products during the international defense technology expo Army 2018 in Moscow Oblast, representatives of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The Army 2018 expo is scheduled to take place in the Patriot Expocenter in Kubinka, Moscow Oblast on 21-26 August. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Pakistan, Slovakia, and Turkey will arrange national expositions to showcase their products. Belarusian defense contractors will bring over 150 products to the expo. Many of them will be demonstrated for the first time.

This year’s Belarusian delegation will include over 20 organizations and companies. The Belarusian national stand will occupy over 650m2. It has been organized by the enterprise Belspetsvneshtechnika. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus Dmitry Pantus.

Belarusian companies will use indoor area to demonstrate quite a broad choice of new and promising products created using innovative technologies. The number includes scaled-down and breadboard models of robots, regular weapons, mobile and portable radio communication systems, radar stations operating in different spectrums, jamming systems, and on-board individual protection systems. The Belarusian companies will also demonstrate lightly armored wheeled and tracked vehicles, optic-electronic devices, optic sights for armored vehicles and personal firearms, information display and processing systems, pocket computers, specialized high-performance computers, automated systems for tactical control over arms and troops, simulators, and other products.

The choice of Belarusian defense products in the open air will include a number of novelties such as the control unit BU-43, the standardized panel computer UPK-46, a color display module, an aircraft display module with an infrared-based touch pad, a system of command vehicles to direct the fire control of towed and rocket artillery Legion-B, the automated control system Alyans for special operations forces, the air defense missile system Trio (a mobile command station and a combat vehicle), the mobile radio relay station Sosna-2.

Representatives of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus said that the Army 2018 expo will be one of the key venues for demonstrating Belarusian defense products, a venue to find new partners and establish long-term relations in the sphere of defense technology cooperation. Over 1,200 major Russian companies, top design bureaus and R&D institutes and companies from 15 countries are expected to take part in the Army 2018 expo and present over 18,000 modern and upcoming defense and dual-use products.
