Belarus to mark European Quality Week, World Quality Day with 70 events

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Companies of the State Committee for Standardization will hold nearly 70 events to mark the European Quality Week and the World Quality Day, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization.

Meetings and seminars with organization of the food, light, construction, chemical, machine-building and other sectors and business to discuss current issues in the application of technical regulations of the Customs Union, metrological activity, and the functioning of management systems will take place in Minsk, Brest, Bobruisk, Borisov, Vitebsk, Grodno, Kalinkovichi, Lida, Polotsk, Orsha, Slutsk, Pinsk, Molodechno. Apart from that, Doors Open Days and Quality Days will be held by almost every company under the committee. The program will also include meetings with students and public organizations.

“World Quality Day has been marked on the second Thursday of November for more than 25 years. This initiative of the European Quality Organization is supported by the United Nations. The European Quality Week was first held in the mid 1990s as part of World Quality Day. In 2015 World Quality Day will be celebrated on 12 November. European Quality Week is already underway on 9-15 November under the slogan Quality-Emotions-Inspiration. This slogan for Belarus means new creative ideas and constant improvement to create high-quality products that are able to draw admiration and preference among consumers,” the State Committee for Standardization said.
