MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – The 6th edition of the international festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites will take place in Belarus on 3-9 March, producer of the festival, director of Berin Iglesias Art Maksim Berin told the media on 2 March, BelTA has learned.

“The festival has been held in Belarus since 2010, and the interest in it has been steadily growing. We have prepared an interesting program together with the maestro,” Maksim Berin said.

The opening ceremony is due to take place at the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus on 3 March. The opera gala concert will feature the State Chamber Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi and soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia Anna Aglatova. On 4 March, the Belarusian State Philharmonics will host a play-concert Eugene Onegin. Pushkin’s renowned work will be read out by famous Russian actor Dmitry Dyuzhev. The one-man show will be accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev’s music performed by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus under the baton of maestro Arkady Berin.

Traditionally, the events of the festival will be held in the regions. Gomel and Mogilev will welcome the orchestra on 4 and 5 March. On 6 March, gifted children will give a concert at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. 7 March will see a gala concert “World Ballet Stars. From Classics to Modern” on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus featuring the best ballet dancers of Europe's leading theaters. The program will include both world masterpieces such as Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Swan Lake and original productions created by contemporary choreographers.

The festival will end on March 9 on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus with a concert of the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra set up by Gidon Kremer. The concert will feature guest soloist Lucas Debargue (piano).

“It is very pleasant that the festival has taken root in Belarus and is being held for the sixth time. It combines programs by both famous and also young musicians, which is important and interesting for us. I would like to express my gratitude to those companies and organizations that support the festival. This is one of the very important elements of public-private partnership,” said Irina Driga, the head of the state special cultural events and professional art at the Culture Ministry.
