Belarus to host Days of Tajik Culture in 2016

DUSHANBE, 16 October (BelTA-Khovar) – Belarus’ Deputy Culture Minister Vasily Chernik stated at a press conference held on 16 October to mark the opening of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan that the Days of Tajik Culture in Belarus would be held in 2016, BelTA informs.

“It is highly important for me that the Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan will provide residents and guests of Dushanbe with an opportunity to learn more about the culture of the Belarusian people. We will welcome the Tajik delegation with the return Days of Tajik Culture in Belarus in 2016,” said Vasily Chernik.

In turn, Culture Minister of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda expressed hope for further development of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

“It is great that cultural ties between Tajikistan and Belarus are resuming. We have planned a number of cultural events for our guests, such as a trip to Tursunzoda, an excursion to vineyards and a sightseeing tour,” he stressed.

Vasily Chernik stressed that the Tajiks are a very hospitable nation. “I hope that our cultural cooperation will continue developing,” he added.

The Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan are underway on 15-19 October. Their official opening ceremony is scheduled for 16 October and will take place at the Tajik Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Sadridin Ayni. The ceremony will include a concert of Belarusian singers and dance companies. Tajikistan will host performances of the Belarusian State Dance Ensemble. On 17 October the Belarusian delegation will give a concert in Tursunzoda.

The program of the Days will include the screening of Belarusian films Brest Fortress, Apostles’ Footprints as well as five animation pictures.

On 18 October Belarusian representatives will be given a tour of the Kohi Navruz Palace in Dushanbe and the National Museum of Tajikistan. The official closing ceremony of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan will take place on the same day.
