Belarus to display over 500 books at Eurasian International Book Fair in Astana

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarus will display over 500 books at the Eurasian International Book Fair in Astana, BelTA learned from director of the publishing house Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia Vladimir Andriyevich.

According to Vladimir Andriyevich, the expo will feature a wide range of books published in Belarus. These include books on regional geography, books for children, students, etc. According to the director of the publishing house, the Belarusian exposition attracts many visitors, especially young people.

Books of the publishing house Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia were on display at the central platform after the opening ceremony on 9 November. These included such books as Belarus. The Country and the People, Olympic Belarus, The Art of Sovereign Belarus, Belarusian Folk Music Instruments, etc.

The Belarusian exposition also featured the books of such publishing houses as Vysheishaya Shkola, Mastatskaya Litaratura, etc.

Partaking in the opening ceremony of the Eurasian International Book Fair was First Deputy Information Minister Igor Lutsky. The book fair was opened by State Secretary of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova. She also visited the Belarusian exposition.

The Eurasian International Book Fair will stay open till 12 November. It is founded and organized by Foliant Publishing House. It is the biggest cultural and enlightenment event in Eurasia which is held in the run-up to the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. The forum will bring together the representatives of publishing houses, book dealers, research institutions and printing companies of the CIS, Europe, and Asia.
