Belarus names Junior Eurovision 2019 hopefuls

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarus named 10 finalists of the Junior Eurovision 2019 national final on 20 August, BelTA learned from the Belarus 1 TV channel.

The auditions were held at Belteleradiocompany’s 600 Meters studio. Taking part in the national selection were 38 singers.

Among those who reached the national final are:

1. Maria Ermakova (Minsk), VETRA;

2. Sofia Khrolovich (Minsk), Let's Dance;

3. Maria Zhilina (Minsk), Singing, Shouting, Waiting;

4. Arina Pekhtereva (Mogilev), Never Again;

5. Anastasia Zhabko (Minsk), Understand Me;

6. Elizabeth Misnikova (Minsk), Ashy;

7. Sofia Rustamova (Brest), Tell Me;

8. Group Zephyr (Minsk), Best and First;

9. Ksenia Galetskaya (Gomel), A Better World;

10. Group Monkey Tops (Minsk), Look at Us.

The draw for the national final will be held at Belteleradiocompany on 21 August (at 12.00) to determine the running order in the upcoming concert. The final show in the form of a live gala concert will be broadcast by the Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels no later than 27 September. Belarus’ Junior Eurovision 2019 entry will be selected by public and jury’s votes. Belteleradiocompany is responsible for preparing the participant from Belarus for the Eurovision Song Contest as Belarus' only member of the European Broadcasting Union.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will take place in Gliwice, Poland on 24 November. Belarus has been participating in the Junior Eurovision since its inception in 2003. The country won the contest twice, with Ksenia Sitnik (My Vmeste, We Are Together) in 2005 and Aleksei Zhigalkovich (S Druzyami, With Friends) in 2007. Last year Belarus hosted the song contest for the second time.
