Belarus-inspired kimono may be produced in Japan ahead of Summer Olympic Games

MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) – A kimono with Belarusian ornament may be produced in Japan ahead of the 32nd Summer Olympic Games, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Japan Ruslan Yesin said in an interview with BelTA.

“The diplomatic mission assisted a group of Japanese enthusiasts with the design of a kimono featuring the elements of Belarusian ornaments in the run-up to the 32nd Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. A fragment of the Slutsk belt is an important detail of the design,” the diplomat noted.

According to Ruslan Yesin, some Japanese companies would like to cooperate with the Belarusian manufacturer of Slutsk belts and souvenir products made from natural materials.
