Belarus expects WHO’s full findings this week

Belarus expects WHO’s full findings this week

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus expects to receive full findings of the World Health Organization mission this week, Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan told the STV channel on 12 April, BelTA has learned.

The deputy minister noted that by this time the WHO experts had voiced ‘tentative findings, so to say key takeaways’. “We are looking forward to receiving the full report this week. Naturally, it will provide details. The things they saw in our country will make part of the WHO recommendations and will be used for other countries that are also facing this situation. Therefore, it is worth a lot,” Yelena Bogdan said.

The deputy minister admitted that in her view the most valuable WHO recommendation was to keep doing that is already being done. “First of all, this pertains to the efforts to protect healthcare workers, as they have always been the most valuable part of our system. Other valuable recommendations deal with approaches to treatment that are already in place in Belarus. There are also recommendations on social distancing. Naturally, another important aspect is the information policy, the way we keep the public updated,” she explained.
