The Art of the Brick. Lego Art exhibition in Minsk

The exhibition The Art of the Brick. Lego Art by the New York artist Nathan Sawaya is one of the top ten most successful and entertaining projects according to the CNN. It is the first time the exhibition has been presented in Minsk. The exposition has already won hearts of fans in Germany, Italy, France, USA, and Australia. It features about 100 works created using millions of Lego parts. The works feature portraits of celebrities, replicas of internationally recognized specimens of architecture, and even volumetric recreations of pictorial art – Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, The Scream by Edvard Munch… The Ancient Greek Parthenon of about 30,000 Lego pieces is a sight to behold! The exhibition includes theme halls – Artist’s Workshop, World Culture, Emotions and States – as well as an entertainment zone, and a gaming zone.

Future LIVE in Minsk

Future LIVE is an amazing space inhabited by heavenly creatures, magical colors and alien plants that are created with the use of modern technologies such as art installation and 3D mapping, interactive visual display, virtual and augmented reality. Visitors will be able to undertake an intergalactic journey,  get familiar with unusual art objects. According to the organizers, the exhibition project is based on the Educatement principles which allows learning in an entertaining way while the interactive multimedia zones teach to interact with the world around us, contribute to creative thinking and stagger the imagination.

Mass Media expo in Belarus

Belarus’ biggest international media event will bring together more than 50 exhibitors: about 300 media services, TV channels, radio stations, news agencies and Internet sites from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, China and other countries. The expo will host the presentations of information and Internet projects, book and photo signing, workshops and flash promotions. The most anticipated events are the press events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of BelTA, the presentations of projects dedicated to the China-Belarus Year of Tourism, the round table Syonnya: Uchora I Zautra (Today: Yesterday and Tomorrow) dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Maladosts magazine, as well as the addresses of representatives of major Belarusian and foreign media, including Global Trends for the New Media by Natalia Loseva from Rossiya Segodnya information agency.

Miss Belarus 2018 beauty contest in Minsk

The grand finale of the Miss Belarus 2018 beauty pageant will be held in Minsk. Thirty Belarus’ most beautiful girls will compete for the crown and a big cash prize. The organizers promise a high-quality show with the great number of interesting technological tricks and directing decisions. In particular, the finale will be a genuine art performance featuring four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. The show will give credit to the native land theme and to the forthcoming 2nd European Games. This year the show will change its usual format, the audience will see a spectacular show full of tricky and vividly choreographed pieces instead of observing ordinary runway walking.

Glubokoye to host Dudarski Rei 2018 Festival

The city of Glubokoye, a cherry capital of Belarus, will host the 2nd Dudarski Rei Festival. It will welcome the best pipe players from Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Portugal. Besides traditional performances of pipe players, the program of the festival will include a festive procession of pipe players, exhibitions dedicated to the history of vytynanka and the pipe (ancient musical instrument), creative master-classes and parties. The event will up with a gala concert and a solemn service in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Virgin Mary in the village of Udelo. Dudarski Rei 2018 is dedicated to Ignat Buinitsky, the renowned founder of the Belarusian professional theater, a native of the Vitebsk region, who took pipe player Adam Shulga int his troupe. The participants of this celebration will visit his hometown - the village of Prozoroky, and also will give master-classes and share secrets of their skills with young musicians of  Glubokoye District.

Viva Rovar 2018 in Minsk

Cyclists will kick off the cycling season 2018 in Minsk with a parade along Pobeditelei Avenue from Mink Hero City Stele to Minsk Arena. According to the organizers, the event has been growing in popularity among young people. In 2017, for example, the international bike festival featured over 7,500 cyclists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Sweden. The Viva Rovar 2018 program will include music and entertainment programs for children and adults in Victory Park.

International Puppet Theater Festival in Minsk

The 10th edition of the international forum will feature 14 plays from seven countries, including Belarus, Russia, France, and Israel. Among the debutants of the forum will be theater companies from Bulgaria, Spain and Iran. The Minsk puppet fest has so far featured plays of over 60 theaters from around the world. The anniversary edition is set to cater mostly for adults. This year’s program is an amazing mixture of choreography, mime art, and classical forms of theater. Children will be invited to see Israel’s Tailor and Umka by the Belarusian theater Lyalka (Vitebsk). The puppet theater forum will include master classes and discussions with viewers and critics. Another highlight will be an evening of theater music by the band Nagual.

Thomas Anders in Minsk

Singer, actor and composer, former Modern Talking member Bernd Weidung, better known by his stage name Thomas Anders, is coming back to Minsk with a new live show. The legend of the 1980s and 1990s music still surprises the fans with new tracks and musical experiments two decades after Modern Talking split. Thomas Anders launched a solo career in 1989 with the first album entitled Different which was followed by the records Whispers, Down on Sunset, Barcos de Cristal, Souled, This Time, Songs Forever, Strong, Christmas for You, History, and Pures Leben, his first album entirely written in German. The Minsk concert setlist will feature Modern Talking golden hits and singles from the solo albums: Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Take the Chance, Lunatic, Stay With Me, Love Is In The Air…

J:Mors acoustic concert in Minsk

J:Mors, one of the most popular Belarusian bands spanning 19 years, has earned a reputation among true rock professionals and fans. Led by Vladimir Pugach, to date J:Mors has released eight studio albums, two live albums, two singles, and several compilations. In 2016, the musicians presented Belarusian Gold, a project launched together with the Presidential Orchestra under the baton of Viktor Babarikin. This time J:Mors, famous for its energetic shows, will create a new acoustic sound and focus more on home-like atmosphere. The band is set to perform the golden hits and tunes from the new album Vozdukh (Air).

Evening with Vladimir Pozner in Minsk

Over more than 50 years of his career the Russian reporter and TV host Vladimir Pozner has built a reputation as the creator of original programs, co-host of teleconference bridges, author of documentary series and books, and, best of all, as a talented interviewer, who has talked to the planet’s prominent people such as Mikhail Gorbachev, Anatoly Chubais, Edvard Radzinsky, Andrei Konchalovsky, and Mark Zakharov. However, the original program Pozner, who has been broadcast live every week for ten years already, has become a truly significant project for him. After the evening with Vladimir Pozner in 2016 when the famous TV reporter answered dozens of questions from listeners, he will come to Minsk once again to share his thoughts and professional tricks and tips…

Evening with the poet Larisa Rubalskaya

Over the course of her life the famous poetess and translator Larisa Rubalskaya has written over 600 songs for Soviet and Russian pop singers, including Alla Pugacheva, Filipp Kirkorov, Tatiana Ovsiyenko, Iosif Kobzon, Irina Allegrova, Mikhail Boyarsky, Alsou, Nikolai Karachentsov… Her debut was the composition Vospominaniye (recollection) coauthored with Vladimir Migulya and magnificently performed by Valentina Tolkunova. Every song by Larisa Rubalskaya is a small story about love with special inflections, which make one’s soul open up to genuine feelings. Guests of the Minsk evening are in for an affectionate and trustful conversation: the poetess will share stories about her life and will reveal secrets of her poetic works…
