Alexandria Gathers Friends 2018

In 2018, the Kupala Night Festival (Alexandria Gathers Friends) will be celebrated on 7-8 July. For its 8th time, the festival will welcome thousands of guests on the picturesque bank of the Dnieper River in the agro-town of Alexandria, Shklov District. The country’s biggest Kupala festival takes place near the bridge that connects not only two villages – Alexandria and Kopys, but also two regions – Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast.

The program of the festival will feature concerts, art projects, dances, songs and rites, and the tasting of the national cuisine. Apart from a big gala concert on the main stage, the traditional youth quest Paparats-Kvetka (Fern Flower), and the Kupala costume competition Kupalish and Kupalinka, the 2018 festival will feature Days of Ukrainian Culture with its Sorochyntsi Fair and an exhibition performance of the equestrian theater “Kievan Rus”.

Performing in Alexandria will be about 1,500 artists, including Sergei Trofimov, Sinyaya Ptitsa, Blestyashchiye Band, Nikolai Gnatyuk, Taisia Povaliy, Viktoria Kokhana, Tina Karol, Ivo Bobul, Oleg Vinnik.

The Kupala Night Festival 2018 will also feature a presentation of the International Bard Music & Fishing Festival and a large-scale exhibition of farmsteads from across the country.
