City Day celebrations near Minsk Palace of Sports

On 9-10 September the Palace of Sports turned into the main venue for the Minsk City Day celebrations. In a non-stop format the open-air ground hosted concerts of Belarusian performers, theatrical shows, a festival of bread, the strongman competitions, the Strongest Fire Rescuer tournament, arts and crafts fairs, open air workshops and a large food court. Minsk residents and the guests of the Belarusian capital set a new record by consuming more than five tonnes of shashlik, 15,000 helpings of pancakes and potato flapjacks!
