Belarus opens fountain season

Belarus opens fountain season
30 Apr 2020

With the arrival of the May holidays, the fountain season kicked off all over Belarus. On 30 April, in the run-up to the Labor Day, 35 city fountains were launched in Minsk. Among them are the new ones: a classical fountain (near the Supreme Court) and a light and music flat fountain (Pulikhova Street). The traditional ceremony was canceled this year to avoid crowds. Due to bad weather, the launch was postponed to warmer days.

Gomel followed suit. More than 10 fountains were launched in the city on 30 April. May Day was a point of reference for other regional centers. Mogilev launched 14 large and small fountains, including a cascading fountain in the Podnikolye Park and a pedestrian one at the Atrium shopping mall. Grodno residents welcomed the sight of the fountain in the Gilibert Park. A floating fountain was built in Brest, on the city embankment on the Mukhavets river which reopened after renovations.
