Turkmenistan president arrives in Belarus on official visit
MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) - Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has arrived in Belarus on an official visit, BelTA has learned.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will stay in Belarus till 12 May. It is expected that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with his Turkmenistan counterpart. The two leaders will hold a one-on-one meeting and an extended meeting with the participation of the representatives of the two delegations.
Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will discuss the state of affairs and prospects of the Belarusian-Turkmen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. They will also discuss a number of landmark projects.
After the talks the presidents will sign a joint statement aimed at the enhancement of mutually beneficial Belarus-Turkmenistan cooperation. A number of bilateral documents will be signed in the presence of the two leaders.
The Turkmenistan president will also plant a tree on the Alley of Distinguished Guests near the Palace of Independence.
Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will also take part in the opening ceremony of the Turkmenistan Embassy in Belarus.
