President’s most important duty is security of the state
MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) - The most important duty of the President is to ensure the security of the society and the state, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with the non-state media on 4 august, BelTA has learned.
"You often criticize me for jobs, wages and so on. But you forget that this is your responsibility too. The well-being of a citizen and his family is, first and foremost, the job of the citizen himself,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
"But the overriding duty of the President is to ensure the security of the society and the state. This is the main thing. People will forgive you not paying wages for a month, two or three months. But they will never forgive you for surrendering the sovereignty and independence of the state,” added the President.
