Lukashenko wants Minsk to turn into smart city

Lukashenko wants Minsk to turn into smart city

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Minsk needs a smart-city development concept, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with the Minsk authorities on 20 December, BelTA has learned.

“We need a smart-city development concept for Minsk, at least for the next five-year perspective. The concept should include the vision of technological development, concrete projects and ways to finance and implement them,” the president said.

He reminded the participants of the meeting that Belarus had embarked on an IT-country policy. Cities, first of all the Belarusian capital, should correspond to the status. The head of state is confident that Minsk has every resource to complete digital transformation into a smart city faster than others.

“Please remember that people and their comfort must be in the center of attention. Everything should be carefully thought through,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
