MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) - Belarus will be a strong and prosperous country in five years, President Alexander Lukashenko said when speaking at the 5^th Belarusian People’s Congress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

“I believe that Belarus will be a strong and prosperous, independent and friendly, beautiful and comfortable country in five years,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“Without imposing my opinion, I would like to say that the draft program submitted for nationwide discussion is a feasible document which takes into account our potential and, at the same time, indicates that there is room for progress across all major parameters,” the President said.

Today’s globalization and fundamental transformations in the global economy raise new challenges for Belarus and other countries. And there are different ways to cope with these challenges. “Actually, we need to choose the best of them to make rapid progress on the way towards financial and spiritual wealth, wellbeing of every citizen, and the prosperity of our dear Belarus. For this purpose we need unity and social accord, peace and order in the country,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.
