Lukashenko: Russia supports Belarus’ oil supply proposals in full

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Russia has supported Belarus’ proposals regarding oil supplies in full, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said on 21 March as he heard out a report on performance of the Belarusian oil refineries, BelTA has learned.

Attending the meeting in the Palace of Independence were Prime Minister Sergei Rumas, Vice Premier Yuri Nazarov, Speaker of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova (she is also Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board at Naftan Oil Refinery), Head of Belarus President’s Administration Igor Sergeyenko and his deputy Valery Belsky, State Secretary of the Security Council Andrei Ravkov, chairmen of the State Border Committee and the State Security Council Leonid Anfimov and Valery Vakulchik, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, and Chairman of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Andrei Rybakov.

According to the head of state, this working group should not only monitor the situation in the area but also take measures to load the Belarusian refineries. It meets weekly and informs the president about the results of its work. The working group is headed by Igor Sergeyenko.

“I have instructed you to consider new proposals of the Russian Federation on the supply of hydrocarbons. We received these proposals from Russians three days ago. As far as I understand, Russians have fully agreed with our proposals for oil supplies,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of Belarus President’s Administration confirmed this and added that Russia's proposals had been considered at the working group meeting.

The meeting chaired by the president considered a wide range of issues related to the purchase of raw materials, loading of oil refineries, meeting the domestic demand for petroleum products as well as exports.
